Untitled document Sires Erick vom Erthal VJP 75 HZP 223 VGP I/320
| | Erick is a “SPLINDED LOOKING FELLOW” coming to us from the breed warden in Nordbayern, Germany. He is an obvious tribute to his superb genetic background. His line has a history of producing some of the best looking dogs in the Drahthaar breed and Erick certainly follows that model. Erick is a very happy and exuberant fellow sporting an excellent coat and strong conformation coupled with outstanding performance in all phases of versatile hunting dog work. These attributes are necessities in our breeding males and we are very excited about Erick now residing at vom Kervinshof. However, my new friend Erick can be one of the most annoying and irritating dogs in existence. He is the classic neighbor or friend everyone hates because they are always in EVERY ONE’S BUSINESS!! He is forever in matters that do not concern him and absolutely none of his business!!! When in my office he noses through my briefcase and file cabinets; he butts into personal and telephone conversations that do not pertain to him; in the bedroom his head is in the dirty clothes hamper or under the bed; in the living room he looks under throw rugs and containers on the counter tops; and especially into Christmas gifts His daily inspections leave nothing untouched. His curiosity has no limits as he picks up boxes of shotgun shells, duck calls, socks, hats and the newspaper neatly stacking them where he can keep them under surveillance. He "NOSES" into every new or old thing in our home, vehicles and kennel facility. Erick loves everyone especially children. He inspects them very closely wanting to make sure they are secure and everything is alright as he noses their ears and sniffs their hair. If pushed away he simply lays his big head on their shoulder or lap and dozes off to sleep with what seems to be a little smile on his face. Cent v. He is just a “Big Baby” by all accounts Cent was probably one of the youngest dogs at the prestigious German Hegewald this year. And performed admirably with “11’s” and “10’s” especially in nose, water, field work and manner of retrieve. Cent follows explicitly the standard we require in every male we use for breeding. He possesses that strong noble head demonstrating character, intelligence and extreme confidence in whom and what he is. He is strong, athletic and has the power and fortitude to do whatever is required. The more difficult the scenario the better he performs. When Cent walks on the scene everyone turns to look in his direction. Recently a remark was made by a group of outdoorsmen at a local event “We do not know what kind of dog he is….. But what a handsome remarkable looking dog”! Cent combines his strong muscular conformation with that superb temperament found in all of our dogs. He loves children, sportsmen and non-sportsmen. However, Cent like all of our dogs has a few quirks. He is absolutely “FACINATED WITH BUGS”! He carefully watches them in the duck blind and kennel or where ever he may find them. On a recent quail hunt he was bounding through the field with powerful strides and spins around into a beautiful stylish point. In a few moments he lies down with his head between his paws and stares intently at a big black bug crawling along the ground. My hunting associates were astonished at this episode and my response was “I told you he is a very versatile hunting dog”. Cent is available for breeding to approved females.
Greif II vom Boekenhagen 4th Place Hegewald 2004 VJP 73 HZP 230 VGP I/346 Pedigree | | Greif is an extremely handsome breeding male, black roan in color with sound conformation and excellent coat. He brings outstanding performance scores in each test and touts a perfect score in the VGP (two day Master's Test.) He was the 4th place dog in the prestigious German Hegewald Test and is also a dead game guide. Generally dogs with high drive are more difficult to handle requiring an experienced handler. Greif with all his drive and superior performance is very obedient and easy to handle demonstrated by earning the Armbruster Halt Award. This award is given to a dog who is in full pursuit of running game, at the sound of the whistle.... he stops and lies down, until signaled to return. Greif is an all day dog, he is in the goose and duck blinds at daybreak and the pheasant or quail fields in the afternoon. If you have shot your big buck or wild boar and can't find him, send Greif. When he finds it, he will put the bringsel in his mouth and return. Greif will now lead you back to your dead buck. However, he will not field dress and carry it back to the truck for you, he thinks you should be able to do at least something on the hunt.
Greif should have been a high ranking politician because he has never met a stranger. He eagerly and happily greets everyone he is introduced to and will not be ignored. It is probably his ego after demonstrating such high performance he wants everyone to notice how special he is. We expect him to pass these excellent traits on to his puppies. He is available for breeding to approved females.
Osko vom Seefleck Hegewald 2004 VJP 72 HZP 216 VGP I/345 Pedigree | | Osko is an eye catching brown roan male rated very good in coat and conformation. He like our other breeding males is a product of the prestigious German Hegewald. His excellent performance scores and great temperament make him an ideal breeding male. Osko has a perfect VGP score and is trained for the Bringsel and is a dead game guide. His overwhelming desire to produce game is accompanied by his great nose. Osko lives for the hunt even when having his daily exercise session he is trying to produce something...anything and is never discouraged no matter how long it takes him. He covers the ground quickly with his athletic speed and retrieves shot game to hand. Usually a dog with the speed of Osko will over run their nose and by pass game but Osko rarely misses any game in the field or water. When confronted with difficult situations he will intelligently think of a way to resolve it. At the end of a long day when the hunt is over Osko will lie quietly in the floorboard of my hunting truck drifting off to sleep. However, when the vehicle stops or I make a slight move his eyes pop open instantly. His eyes lock on mine with an intense stare to see if I have reached for the shotgun. If not he will lay his head down but I think he keeps one eye open. Osko is available for breeding to approved females.
